Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. A California born Buss was raised in an upper class family. The father of her Jerry Buss was a real-estate businessman who became manager of the Lakers and other sports businesses. Their relationship ended in 1972, which caused her to feel like she was neglected. Her family's business was started at the age of 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Then she founded an organization called the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She held the position of president of Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Buss was the inheritor of her share of the Lakers through her father's estate in the year 2013. Five siblings of hers inherited it through a family estate trust. She took on the role of president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also partner in the ownership of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling organization).
